Positions

The Nakato Lab is currently recruiting for the positions listed below to advance our grant projects. If you are interested in one of these positions, please email Nakato.

These positions are intended for carrying out the grant projects of the Nakato Lab. We do not accept applications motivated primarily by an applicant’s desire to conduct their own research or to develop bioinformatics/data analysis skills. Please see the Research page for our current research themes.

◆ Research associate: Note that this position requires proficiency in Japanese, as it involves teaching and proctoring duties.
◆ Project research associate: In this position, you will conduct your own research and supervise one or more students in the Nakato lab.
◆ Postdoc: In this position, you will conduct your own research while also providing partial support for student projects.

Interns

We can welcome interns for a limited period of time (unpaid, from two weeks to several months, mainly in summer) to conduct research in the Nakato lab. Interns are assigned an individual topic, one or more journal clubs, and a presentation of their research progress at the end of the program. You will be listed as an author if the research result is published.

The internship program is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in joining the Nakato Lab. Those who do not intend to enroll and only want to learn computational analysis for a short period of time are not eligible to participate.

Research Student

We can accept the research student status required for the MEXT Scholarship application. Due to our limited capacity, we generally do not accept self-funded research students, except in special cases. Instead, please consider taking the graduate school entrance exam.
